How to Take Measurements
1. Use a Metal Measuring Tape
To minimize errors when measuring your windows, always use a metal measuring tape. Unlike plastic or cloth tapes, which can stretch and result in inaccurate measurements, metal tapes maintain their length and provide precise readings. Also, ensure the tape is taut, as any slack can lead to incorrect dimensions.
2. Measure in Millimeters (mm)
For the most accurate results, measure in millimeters, as this is the standard used in most industries. Measuring to the nearest millimeter ensures that your window measurements are as precise as possible, making it easier to obtain an accurate quote for your custom or ready-made blinds.
3. Be Precise
Precision is key when measuring your windows, especially for inside-mounted blinds. Even a slight variation of a few millimeters can impact the fit of your blinds, so take care to be as exact as possible.
Measuring for Inside-Mounted Blinds
If you prefer to install your blinds inside the window frame, you'll need to measure the interior dimensions of the frame. Inside-mounted blinds offer a sleek, tailored appearance and emphasize the beauty of your window frames.
Your measurements should include:
Width (W1, W2, W3): Measure the width of your window at three points – top, middle, and bottom. Use the narrowest measurement as your final width. Avoid making any deductions; leave that to the professionals.
Height (H1,H2): Similarly, measure the height in three places – left and right. Use the shortest measurement.
Depth:Â To ensure the window recess is deep enough for the blind's headrail, measure the depth of the recess. This helps our consultants recommend the best blinds for your space.

Measuring for Outside-Mounted Blinds
Outside-mounted blinds are ideal if your window lacks the depth for an inside mount or if you want to create the illusion of a larger window. When measuring for outside mounts, be sure to include extra space around the window frame. We recommend adding at least 35 millimeters to each side, as well as the top and bottom.
Your measurements should include:
Width (W):Â Measure the width of the entire window, including the frame, at three points (top, middle, and bottom). Use the widest measurement, and remember to add the extra space on each side.
Height (H):Â Measure the height from where the headrail will be mounted down to the sill. Take measurements at three points (left, middle, and right) and use the longest measurement.
